Interesting Facts

Joseph Haworth & The Eagle Theatre

The Eagle was built as a variety house in 1875 but did not fare well in its uptown location. In April 1877 Joe made his New York debut at the Eagle in Crown of Thorns with Anna Dickinson, The Hunchback, and Macbeth.
